October 20th, 2018 7 PM: Music of Early France
Come experience the early French repertoire on transitional flutes, viols, recorders, and harpsichord at the low pitch with which it was conceived. A=392 adds a richness to the sound that is lost when played at the higher pitches.
March 2nd, 2019 3 PM: Bach and Friends
Enjoy music of J.S. Bach and his friends. Most musicians in 18th century Germany knew each other and were often on other composers subscription lists for newly composed music. Come and experience the diversities of styles among musicians of the mid 18th-century!
May 19th, 2019 3 PM: Squarely Piano, Featuring fortepiano guest artist Randall Love
A lovely concert on an original 1805 square piano featuring fortepiano specialist Randall Love. The square piano was the instrument for the everyday home, and the home was where most music making happened. Come hear these classical chamber works with the keyboard instrument with which it was most commonly performed.
